Situated in Toscany at the center of an area of great historical and artistic interest,
Casa dei Meli is a lovingly restored, hospitable ancient stone farmhouse standing
on the top of the hill which is part of the property: from there you will enjoy a
beautiful view over the surrounding hills, well known throughout the world for their
gentle beauty.
To this very day roads and paths design the same itineraries once followed by Julius
Cesar and Hannibal, and by the merchants of old and artists from the northern lands
of Europa, travelling south to touch the magical light and colour and the special
feeling of Italy.
The west windows of Casa dei Meli frame the ancient ruins of the Montanina Castle,
built in 1100 and quoted by Leonardo in one of his watercolours. |
